A NEW SOLUTION FOR SENIOR LIVING FACILITIES

Amazon announces Alexa Smart Properties for Senior Living, a solution that enables senior living facilities in Germany, France, Italy, and the UK to integrate Alexa into their homes. Alexa Smart Properties has been specially developed for the needs of seniors and caregivers. With Alexa, residents can receive information and entertainment simply using their voice.

FIRST LOCATIONS AND AVAILABILITY

Alexa Smart Properties is already available in France and the UK and will soon be available in Germany and Italy.

• In Germany, the solution will be used for the first time at the Heinrich-Haus Senior Center (operated by the Josefs-Gesellschaft) in Neuwied.

• In France, Alexa Smart Properties is already available in several homes of the Korian Group.

SUPPORT FOR RESIDENTS AND CARE STAFF COMMUNICATION AND ENTERTAINMENT

Alexa Smart Properties enables residents of senior living facilities to stay in touch with their relatives outside the home:

• Alexa-to-Alexa Calling Feature: Video and voice calls with family and friends.

• Individual Information: Activities, menus, and reminders are displayed on Amazon Echo Show devices.

INCREASING EFFICIENCY FOR CARE STAFF

Care staff can communicate more efficiently with residents using Alexa communication features:

• Announcements and Calls: Voice and video calls within the facility.

• Smart Home Control: Residents can control lighting, blinds, and thermostats with their voice, saving time for care staff.

With the Alexa Smart Properties tools and APIs, solution providers can easily deploy and manage a large number of devices. The Josefs-Gesellschaft has developed a skill in collaboration with DiscVision that enables easy deployment and configuration of the devices.
