DiscVision provides technology for the eviado hybrid PVR system.
Introduction
DiscVision will present the innovative eviado Hybrid PVR System at ANGA Cable 2010 (May 4–6). The product line includes cost-effective Set-Top Boxes (STB) and PVR solutions, supporting all common reception technologies (satellite, cable, terrestrial) as well as the Internet as a distribution channel for audio and video content.
Hybrid System with Seamless Integration
The eviado STB system enables:
Integration of DVB and IP Content: Seamless combination of broadcast and internet services.
Network Connection: Wi-Fi (802.11n) and Ethernet for easy integration into the home network and constant internet connection.
Features and Content
The system showcased at ANGA Cable integrates:
Hybrid Digital Satellite Receiver: PVR-capable for DVB-S2 content.
Web Portal for Internet Applications: User-friendly representation of leading internet applications on the TV screen, based on the Opera Devices web browser.
CI+ Interface: Allows access to HD+ content.
HbbTV Stack: Developed by DiscVision.
Managed EPG from "TV digital": High-quality EPG data to support intelligent recording recommendations.
Intelligent Recording Recommendations
The system offers an intelligent recording feature that:
Analyzes user preferences.
Automatically fills the hard drive with relevant content.
Requires no manual programming.
Partnerships and Integration
The development was realized in close collaboration with eviado GmbH, GkWare, MMH Netrange GmbH, APRICO, and Opera. DiscVision was responsible for:
Software and Hardware Integration.
Providing the entire software stack for the system.
